Repairs & Refurbishment Contractor
Public Sector Housing Projects
Our client is a well-established repairs and refurbishment contractor delivering projects predominantly within the public sector housing sector. They are known for high-quality delivery, strong compliance standards, and a resident-focused approach to construction.
Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee refurbishment and maintenance works across occupied and void properties in Lambeth.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to a high standard of quality, while maintaining a positive experience for residents.
This role would suit a hands-on Site Manager with strong knowledge of public sector housing refurbishment and experience managing multiple trades in live environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Day-to-day management of refurbishment and repair works on site
• Managing direct labour, subcontractors, and material deliveries
• Ensuring works are delivered safely and in full compliance with health and safety regulations
• Coordinating works within occupied properties, maintaining minimal disruption to residents
• Liaising closely with Resident Liaison Officers, project managers, and client representatives
• Ensuring programmes are met and works are delivered to specification
• Conducting site inspections, quality checks, and snag management
• Maintaining accurate site documentation, including RAMS, permits, and progress records
• Managing subcontractor performance and ensuring productivity targets are achieved
• Reporting progress, issues, and variations to senior management
Requirements
• Proven experience as a Site Manager within repairs, refurbishment, or planned maintenance projects
• Strong background working within public sector or social housing environments
• SMSTS (or SSSTS depending on project scope)
• First Aid at Work
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple trades and work streams simultaneously
• Full UK driving licence
