ICT and Security Consultant

Shaping the design of some of the most secure and critical facilities in the UK and US

This role focuses on design and design assurance for highly secure facilities across the UK and US. The work spans the built environment, ICT networks, and integrated physical and electronic security systems, ensuring compliance with stringent security standards from concept through detailed design.

The role supports both defence and Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) projects.

• Design and design assurance for secure buildings in accordance with RIBA design stages
• Development and assurance of the systems and processes used to deliver secure building designs
• Integration of security requirements into building layouts, services, and infrastructure

• Design and assurance of ICT networks and systems supporting secure facilities
• Secure and non-secure communications systems, including networks supporting Secret and Above
• Integration of electronic and physical security systems into the overall building and network design

• Experience working in classified environments
• UK security clearance: SC, Enhanced SC, or DV
• Familiarity with UK security standards (e.g. JSP 440, TS 2024)
• Familiarity with US security standards (e.g. ICD 705)
• Familiarity with Security design to PL3 and above

• Secure and non-secure communications networks
• Accredited CCTV and video management systems suitable for high-security or defence environments
• Compliance with secure communications and information assurance requirements
• Use of approved encryption technologies
• High-security access control systems
• TEMPEST-protected systems and communications installations
• Grade 4 Intruder Detection Systems, including approved high-security equipment
• Technical understanding of radar or sensitive operational facilities

• Understanding of security requirements for CNI assets
• Familiarity with relevant guidelines and standards for CNI environments
• Development of security requirements, processes, and data management approaches
• Application of recognised security frameworks and methodologies, including Threat, Vulnerability & Risk Assessments (TVRA), Security Assurance Levels (SAL), and Security Strategy and Operating Requirements (SSOR)
• Knowledge of information classification and document marking (Sensitive / Official Sensitive)
• Awareness of security governance and management practices
