A prestigious UK law firm is seeking a Senior Client Intake Assistant for a 12-month fixed term contract based in Bristol. Responsibilities- Review and validate new client and matter requests to ensure all information provided is complete, accurate, and compliant with internal policies as well as external regulations.
- Act as an escalation point for complex queries relating to customer due diligence (CDD), know your client (KYC), anti-money laundering (AML) requirements, and conflict of interest matters.
- Undertake ongoing monitoring of clients by conducting regular AML and sanctions checks, including the assessment of high-risk clients and adverse media screening.
- Advise fee earners and business services teams on best practices regarding onboarding procedures, ensuring clarity on regulatory obligations at every stage.
- Manage the end-to-end Client Matter Inception (CMI) process by overseeing workflows and ensuring completion within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Maintain accurate records of client and matter data within the firm's systems, supporting data integrity and compliance with audit requirements.
- Support continuous improvement projects by sharing knowledge with colleagues and identifying opportunities to enhance existing processes.
- Provide training and guidance to team members when required, fostering a collaborative approach to learning within the team.
- Collaborate closely with risk management professionals to ensure alignment between onboarding activities and wider firm objectives.
- Experience working within AML, CDD or KYC functions in a legal, financial or other regulated environment is essential for this role.
- A strong understanding of UK Money Laundering Regulations alongside familiarity with relevant EU directives is required.
- Demonstrated experience handling conflicts of interest issues as well as knowledge of SRA Standards & Regulations is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a methodical approach to problem-solving ensures accuracy in all aspects of your work.
- Outstanding communication skills enable you to explain complex regulatory matters clearly to colleagues at all levels.
- A proactive attitude coupled with adaptability allows you to manage competing priorities effectively under tight deadlines.
