The award-winning Integrated Access Partnership (IAP) is seeking a Team Manager to join our innovative mental health service . The IAP provides a fully integrated urgent and emergency mental health care pathway across both 999 and 111 services in the South West. This role offers the opportunity to help lead and develop our Mental Health Support Desk (MH SD) within the wider IAP model. You'll join an existing dynamic leadership team including 2 other Team Managers , working closely together to oversee all aspects of service delivery and development.
We're looking for an experienced leader with strong management skills to support our multidisciplinary team of registered and non-registered mental health professionals.
Main duties of the jobTo provide operational management and leadership for all staff and volunteers in the team and area of your responsibility.
Alongside your manager you will ensure the development of Integrated Business Plan and to ensure delivery of key targets in relation to service performance, integrated governance, workforce planning, partnership development and financial sustainability within your team.
To work in close partnership with Service Users, Carers, Clinical Staff, Trust performance Management and Finance Staff, Corporate Services, Human Resources, Community Care, Independent and Not-for Profit Organisations in the delivery of operational services.

Job responsibilities1. Providing direct leadership and management for the MHSD service, including line management of a designated group of the whole IAP workforce.
2. Maintaining operational oversight of day-to-day service delivery across the IAP.
3. Ensuring a resilient, effective and engaged workforce through recruitment, retention and staff development initiatives.
4. Fostering a supportive team culture focused on wellbeing and continuous improvement.
5. Collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team on service development and innovation.
6. Leading on quality improvement, auditing and service evaluation for the MHSD.
7. Supporting complex operational decision-making when required managing workforce planning, including rostering, sickness absence, and performance.
8. Overseeing staff engagement, onboarding, and retention strategies.
9. Representing the IAP in stakeholder engagement with key stakeholders.
10. Working in partnership with 999, 111 and urgent care services to enhance mental health crisis provision.
11. Contributing to the wider strategic development of the IAP model.
Person SpecificationSkills and Abilities
- Ability to manage teams and individuals in a complex and changing environment
- Ability to form effective working relationships with other partners patient groups and stakeholders
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills
- Registered professional with extensive mental health knowledge
- Significant experience of managing Health and/or Social Care staff and services
- Experience of developing and implementing new ways of working and procedures.
- Experience of managing complex caseload/workload demands
- Experience of developing and maintaining partnerships with external agencies, professional leads, staff and trades unions.
- Demonstrates practical knowledge of Mental Health legislation and understanding of mental health issues, clinical settings and psychosocial interventions
- Experience working as a mental health practitioner
- Registered as a mental health practitioner with professional qualifications in a relevant discipline. For nurses RMN ( parts 3 or 13 of NMC register)
- Formal post-graduate diploma level qualification in a relevant field eg THORN, Non-Medical Prescribing, Clinical Leadership, AMHP, CBT, Brief Therapy or can demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge and expertise gained in…
