This is a rare and genuine succession opportunity with one of the UK's largest and fastest growing multi-disciplinary consultancies. We are seeking an ambitious Associate Civil Engineer to join their Bristol office and step directly into a high-impact leadership role.

From day one, you will inherit a strong pipeline of secured work, take ownership of project delivery, and act as the technical lead for Civil Engineering across the region. About the Role
  • Take ownership of an established and diverse pipeline of civil engineering projects.
  • Act as the day-to-day technical lead within the Bristol office.
  • Line manage and mentor apprentices, graduates, and engineers.
  • Play a key role in developing client relationships and expanding regional capability.
  • Work closely with an experienced Director committed to supporting your progression.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical delivery of multiple concurrent civil engineering schemes.
  • Quality assurance of drawings, reports, and submissions for planning and technical approvals.
  • Cross-disciplinary coordination within a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment.
  • Direct client engagement and relationship management.
  • Mentoring, coaching, and performance development of junior engineers.
  • Fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
About You
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng or equivalent).
  • Strong background in infrastructure and drainage design.
  • Hands‑on experience with Civil 3D and industry‑standard drainage design tools.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and communicate confidently with clients.
  • A natural mentor who enjoys coaching and developing others.
  • A pragmatic problem-solver who makes well‑reasoned, evidence‑based decisions.
  • Ambitious, with a clear appetite for leadership and influence.
