This is a rare and genuine succession opportunity with one of the UK's largest and fastest growing multi-disciplinary consultancies. We are seeking an ambitious Associate Civil Engineer to join their Bristol office and step directly into a high-impact leadership role.

From day one, you will inherit a strong pipeline of secured work, take ownership of project delivery, and act as the technical lead for Civil Engineering across the region. With the backing of an experienced and highly supportive Regional Director, this role offers a clear and accelerated pathway toward becoming part of the regional leadership team.

• Take ownership of an established and diverse pipeline of civil engineering projects.
• Act as the day-to-day technical lead within the Bristol office.
• Line manage and mentor apprentices, graduates, and engineers.
• Play a key role in developing client relationships and expanding regional capability.
• Work closely with an experienced Director committed to supporting your progression.

This is not a holding role - it is designed as a stepping stone to regional leadership.

You won't be waiting for projects to materialize. You'll lead from the outset, managing multiple concurrent schemes and influencing delivery strategy.

This position is a defined succession route. The business is actively investing in its next generation of regional leaders.

You'll join an established, collaborative team with proven systems, strong inter-disciplinary relationships, and a healthy forward workload - allowing you to focus on quality, growth, and client service.

Structured mentoring and leadership development will be provided to strengthen your resilience, commercial awareness, and management capability.

• Technical delivery of multiple concurrent civil engineering schemes.
• Quality assurance of drawings, reports, and submissions for planning and technical approvals.
• Cross-disciplinary coordination within a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment.
• Direct client engagement and relationship management.
• Mentoring, coaching, and performance development of junior engineers.
• Fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture.

• Chartered Engineer (CEng or equivalent).
• Strong background in infrastructure and drainage design.
• Hands‑on experience with Civil 3D and industry‑standard drainage design tools.
• Proven ability to manage projects and communicate confidently with clients.
• A natural mentor who enjoys coaching and developing others.
• A pragmatic problem-solver who makes well‑reasoned, evidence‑based decisions.
• Ambitious, with a clear appetite for leadership and influence.
