Job Description

We are looking to recruit ambitious and motivated individuals to join our highly experienced Owner Driver Team. You will be responsible for Area 14 covering depots in the South West area.

Purpose of the position
  • Be fully accountable for the DPD third‑party partner model and champion the process from beginning to end.
  • Retain drivers in line with agreed KPIs, reduce churn and drive engagement.
  • Build meaningful and personable relationships with third‑party partners.
  • Ensure the fair treatment of self‑employed workers in line with the company DNA and self‑employment scheme.
Your key accountabilities
  • Support the recruitment initiatives of new drivers within the area and in line with the agreed KPIs.
  • Oversee the delivery points for the area, ensuring brand compliance and service levels are maintained with the service partners.
  • Be the key point of contact for drivers within the area and ensure a comprehensive onboarding and induction process to maximise understanding of the role and retention.
  • Reduce churn by understanding the reasons behind it and creating a strategy to target depots that require support.
  • Provide professional advice on the contractual process between DPD and its third‑party suppliers.
Qualifications

About you

  • Be able to evidence a successful track record in partnership management and conflict resolution, ideally within the distribution or a similarly related industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence both upward and downward.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with organisational, decisive decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
  • High levels of resilience, self‑motivation, flexibility and the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Be extremely driven to drive change in culture and champion the scheme within the network.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Good computer literacy and the ability to analyse data and take action accordingly.
  • Demonstrate the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring and Accountability.

A full clean driving licence is essential, as is a flexible approach to travel and overnight stays.
