About the Role

Join the Arriva Train Care Team as a Depot Operations Assistant at Eastleigh! The role is part of the Arriva Train Care (ATC) contract, fixed term until December 2026. Working hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:00.

Eastleigh.

Arriva Train Care provides high‑quality overhaul, maintenance and servicing of passenger rolling stock, locomotives, freight wagons and track plant across the UK from six strategic locations – Crewe, Bristol, Eastleigh, Cambridge, Tyne Yard and Scarborough. Responsibilities
  • Carry out work as allocated by the Depot Manager, Service Delivery Leader, Production Manager or Team Leader within set timescales.
  • Carry out cleaning or simple maintenance tasks on rail vehicles at the discretion of the Depot Manager, Service Delivery Leader, Production Manager or Team Leader.
  • Ensure that the appropriate quality and environmental procedures and work instructions are adhered to.
  • Take part in technical, quality, safety and general briefings and safety tours, and ensure that the necessary action is taken on items raised.
  • Always maintain good housekeeping and standard of cleanliness throughout the depot.
  • Ensure all documentation/paperwork issued relating to the work being carried out is correctly and fully completed.
  • Play an active role in your appraisal, training and development.
  • Loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
  • Use SAP as appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring the non‑conformance process is correctly adhered to.
  • Collect material not required from point of use areas and return it to the correct location within the depot.
  • Use software applications such as Maximo and other software applications when required.
  • Responsible for ensuring good housekeeping and cleanliness in general areas is kept.
  • Perform forklift driving duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Valid forklift licence is desirable.
  • Good working knowledge of the railway.
  • Prior experience working on SAP is advantageous.
