60 is looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work for a leading Facilities Management company based in Southmeads.

Pay Rate: £17.31 p/h PAYE

Job Type: 3-4 Months Contracts

Location: Southmeads

Hours per week: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 7:00-15:30, 10:00-18:30). Alternates late and early shifts each week. Includes participation in on-call rota and occasional overtime as required.

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support facilities management services on a large site. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong fault‑finding and repair skills. The successful candidate must be confident working independently and responding to reactive maintenance issues.

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults independently.
• Maintain and repair HVAC systems, AHUs, pumps, valves, TMVs, steam systems and medical gas systems.
• Complete basic plumbing repairs and basic electrical tasks (e.g. lamp changes).
• Respond to breakdowns such as leaks, temperature issues, and water system faults.
• Support plant inspections and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and report any hazards.
• Participate in on-call rota and overtime where required.

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, HVAC or related discipline.
• Proven hands‑on maintenance experience (no design‑only backgrounds).
• Strong fault‑finding ability.
• Able to work independently and on alternating shifts.
