Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

60 is looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work for a leading Facilities Management company based in Southmeads.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

PAY RATE: £ 17.31 p/h PAYE

JOB TYPE: 3-4 Months Contracts

LOCATION:

Southmeads

HOURS PER WEEK: 40 hours per week

HOURS:

Monday to Friday

Hours:

7:00-15:30, 10:00-18:30

Note:

Alternates late and early shifts each week. (Includes participation in on-call rota and occasional overtime as required)

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support facilities management services on a large site. This is a hands-on role requiring strong fault-finding and repair skills. The successful candidate must be confident working independently and responding to reactive maintenance issues.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
Diagnose and repair mechanical faults independently.
Maintain and repair HVAC systems, AHUs, pumps, valves, TMVs, steam systems and medical gas systems.
Complete basic plumbing repairs and basic electrical tasks (e.g. lamp changes).
Respond to breakdowns such as leaks, temperature issues, and water system faults.
Support plant inspections and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
Follow Health & Safety procedures and report any hazards.
Participate in on-call rota and overtime where required.

Requirements:

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, HVAC or related discipline.
Proven hands-on maintenance experience (no design-only backgrounds).
Strong fault-finding ability.
Able to work independently and on alternating shifts.
