Overview
Office Based (5 Days). My client is the rapidly growing European subsidiary of a global film company that specialise in lighting, rigging, generators, etc. They also own film studies as well as facilitate studios for other organisations. They seek a reliable, self-motivated Textile Repairs Technician to work as part of their operations department. You will be highly organised and disciplined, supporting processes and procedures, assisting teams, customers and managers.
The Textile Repairs Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all textile and soft goods within the rental stock. This includes carrying out all necessary repairs, alterations, and additions using the appropriate machinery and equipment in a safe and effective manner.

- Must have excellent communication skills
- Assess and prioritise incoming repair requests, ensuring that the most urgent items are completed first.
- Use the inventory stock control system to return items from repair with accurate resolution notes and provide timely and precise pricing for billable repairs.
- Assist in training temporary textile repair technicians and collaborate with the Repairs Administrator on retiring stock beyond economical repair.
- Proactively identify when repair fabric levels are running low to prevent shortages.
- Experience with industry-level sewing machinery and the ability to learn and navigate the stock control system.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to build strong working relationships, work effectively under pressure, and adapt to changing deadlines.
- Self-motivated, well organised, and capable of planning workload while managing multiple ongoing tasks.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when needed.
- Interest in lighting for film, television, or live events is beneficial, not essential.
- Experience with industry-level sewing machinery and the ability to learn and navigate the stock control system.
- Stock administration knowledge
