Purpose of role:
The key purpose of this role is to generate an increasing number of new business sales from insurance brokers/intermediaries across a given region of the UK in line with sales targets.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Sales and support- Identify and approach new brokers / intermediaries who would be appropriate to act as agents on behalf of the Society to sell our insurance/Health products.
- Develop new business relationships with the intermediaries, ensuring Terms of Business are signed and recorded for each.
- Ensure new and existing intermediaries are appropriately trained on our products and systems and kept updated on developments.
- Visit all intermediaries regularly to ensure satisfaction with the working relationship, address issues, identify opportunities for improvement / additional sales opportunities and overcome obstacles to the sale of new products.
- Identify any barriers to sale experienced by intermediaries and proactively feed them back to the Society for consideration by the Head of Sales & Marketing / Executive Team.
- Ensure all intermediary details / records are regularly updated and accurately maintained on the CRM system (Salesforce).
- Assist in the development of, and effectively manage within the distribution channel, best practice Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide input to distribution plans, product development and marketing in order to help the Society achieve its strategic objectives and sales targets.
- Review and monitor market announcements/developments to ensure new sales opportunities are maximized.
- Meet sales and performance targets.
- Undertake all work in line with the Society’s service and quality standards and comply with all the Society’s policies and processes.
- Communicate the Society’s values in dealings with colleagues and intermediaries and other third parties with particular attention to the principles of Treating Customers Fairly and acting with integrity, at all times acting as an ambassador of the Society.
- Ensure all correspondence is safely stored and available for reference in compliance with all data protection policies and regulations.
- Comply with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements including the FCA and PRA rules, the UK General Data Protection Regulations, and all relevant health & safety, anti-money laundering, and anti-bribery and corruption laws.
- Maintain high personal standards in terms of attendance, time‑keeping and general conduct.
