You will run field experiments, conduct behavioural filming, collect CT scans and transcriptomes, and analyse data in collaboration with international collaborators.

This position is funded by a NERC‑NSF “Pushing the Frontiers” grant awarded to Dr Patrick Kennedy (University of Bristol) and Professor Dustin Rubenstein (Columbia University). The expected start date is 1 March 2026 with a fixed‑term contract until 31 May 2028.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct overseas fieldwork, including field sampling across environmental gradients.
  • Perform behavioural experiments, capture and analyse video footage.

  • Collaborate closely with postdocs, PhD students, local field assistants and partner institutions.
  • Lead data analysis and be the first author on resulting publications.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience in overseas research fieldwork.

  • Ability to work as part of an international field team.

  • PhD in a related field.

Desirable requirements:
