Job Overview

The Quality Improvement Lead works closely with the Head of HSSQ and the Sisk Rail delivery teams to lead the implementation of a quality culture across all areas of the organisation. The role facilitates process improvements to optimise delivery and drive continual improvement, ensuring standards of excellence through proactive and reactive engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and embedding of the Sisk "Quality DNA" approach within Sisk Rail teams, delivery frameworks & projects, and the supply chain.
  • Facilitate process improvements and value engineering to optimise delivery.
  • Develop quality management systems, processes, plans and documentation to meet ISO 9001 and other external requirements.
  • Coordinate the assurance of quality deliverables, inspection and testing standards for the Sisk Rail management system through to on‑site delivery.
  • Ensure the quality management system is fit to deliver optimum value and is rolled out across all sites and relevant staff grades.
  • Develop quality KPIs and reporting mechanisms for clients, Sisk, and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective quality inspection and review schedules that track project performance, trends and enable early intervention of at‑risk packages or teams.
  • Develop quality capability and performance through training and competency of delivery teams.
  • Coordinate non‑conformity investigations, close‑outs and lessons‑learnt.
  • Oversee approaches to develop quality management within the Sisk Rail supply chain.
  • Coordinate and undertake assurance activities to ensure the effectiveness of the management system.
  • Manage the collation of guidance and awareness of potential risks and best practices for recurring defects.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Practical experience providing technical advice, guidance, and development of quality management systems—preferably in the rail or construction industry.
  • Demonstrable experience creating proactive quality management cultures at operational and managerial levels.
  • Experience developing quality management plans, inspection and testing plans in construction/engineering or rail environments.
  • Experience leading process improvement reviews with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience as a Quality Transformation Lead, Improvement and Innovation Lead, or similar.
  • Experience in internal assurance, investigation and close‑out of NCRs.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving traits.
  • Self‑motivated with a passion for quality.
  • Level 4 Qualification in Quality Management.
  • ISO Lead Auditor qualification.
