ENT outpatients Aural Care Specialist Nurse

We are currently looking for a registered nurse experienced in aural care to join our friendly multidisciplinary team at St Michaels Hospital.
You will deliver aural care treatment clinics and participate in running our busy ENT outpatients department.
We have a 28.5 hour per week fixed term post to cover a career break for a period of 6 months.
The hours will be worked over 3 days, Monday, Thursday and Friday 8:00 - 18:00
Main duties of the jobYou will deliver nurse led aural care clinics treating patients for ear problems including performing microsuction for complex patients and treating infections.
The role will also include overseeing and assisting with the doctor and nurse practitioner clinics.
You will learn the process of decontamination of nasendoscopes (training will be given).
In the absence of the department Sister, you will take charge of the department, ensuring the smooth running of the service.
There will be opportunities for teaching others within the outpatient multi-disciplinary team.

- Current NMC registration
- Relevant post registration course, ear care diploma or similar
- Training Qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience of working in an ENT outpatients setting
- Experience of delivering clinics performing aural care
- Ability to correctly interpret and escalate deteriorating patients where appropriate
- Experience of teaching/mentoring junior staff
- Good basic level of English language demonstrated
- Competency in aural care
- Self‑motivated
- Ability to solve problems and use initiative
- Team player
- Awareness of audit and research
