A new concept in healthcare, our Medirooms combine the traditional recovery, day-case, same-day and admission areas into a single patient room environment, specifically designed to enhance patient experience by improving the level of privacy and dignity that these areas were traditionally able to offer. Patients also benefit from continuity of care as they are admitted, recovered and discharged/transferred by the same Mediroom team.
- Our Practicefacilitators support staff through training programmeandregular catch-up/reviews to help them achieve their competencies and support their wellbeing.
- We provide a wide range of in-housetrainingand a mentor is assigned to support your continuing professional development. External study days are also provided for the specialist skills required for your role and provide revalidation support.
We currently have opportunities available for:
- Experienced Registered Nurses with current NMC Registration
- Newly Qualified and Newly Qualifying Nurses, ready to take the leap from theory to the clinical setting.
Please note, if successfully shortlisted, you will need to be able to attend the assessment centre in person, there will be no virtual or online option.
You must:
- Be able to commence employment within the next 3 months, please ensure this is feasible for you before applying.
- Be able to fulfill a full and flexible range of shift patterns as per the attached document. We are unable to offer fixed shift patterns for Medirooms.
Working within our department, your main duties will include:
- Providing direct patient care in themedi-room areas, being responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care of patients
- Identifying individual patient requirements and acting effectively on changing needs, liaising with and directing relevant staff.
- Organising time, equipment and staff to deliver safe and efficient patient care.
- Giving skilled support to medical staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Administering drugs and treatments as prescribed in accordance with Trust Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Demonstrating effective communication within departments and multidisciplinary team.
- Advising patients, theircarersand other staff on the promotion of health and prevention of illness.
- Recognising situations that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the individual and institutes preventative measures.
- Identifyingthe priorities of care for patients, liaising with and directing relevant staff.
- Organising and participating in the delivery of high standards of evidence-based nursing care.
Our state-of-the-art Brunel Building, one of the most modern hospitals in Europe, accommodates 24 operating theatre rooms, with 72 single patient Medirooms situated in close proximity to the theatres. The Medirooms are arranged in 5 clusters over 2 floors.
