We’re looking for a new Community Connector to help us navigate our exciting future. We are looking for someone with a big heart for Lockleaze and a familiarity with our diverse community, who has the energy and imagination to work closely with people from across Lockleaze who want to change Lockleaze for the better. You will be someone who wants to join our welcoming and inclusive team who believe in the power of community as the engine for social change.

The Community Connector at Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust will co‑deliver our Lockleaze Together project over the next four years, funded by Bristol City Council’s Bristol Impact Fund and National Lottery Reaching Communities. Working closely with our Community Activator Maria Perrett, the role will include:
- Going out into our Lockleaze community to bring more people together to work for a better, fairer, healthier, greener Lockleaze, using asset‑based community development techniques and working in an inclusive, community‑led way.
- Developing a new Lockleaze Community Forum and Advisory Panel with our community, to build more community power in Lockleaze.
- Co‑designing and delivering with residents our new Community Ideals programme, encouraging the ideas and talents of our diverse community.
- Supporting a raft of community‑led Community Feasts and one‑off events across the year, bringing our community together and inspiring residents to take action.
- Supporting our Hubbub Cafe as it grows into a new daily community cafe, and co‑managing its regular community‑led Advice Drop‑Ins
. - Collecting feedback from our activities that contribute to reporting to our funders and our Board of Trustees.
Hours
: 22.5 hours a week / three days a week (0.6 FTE)
Contract term
:
One year Fixed Term Contract with option to extend
Location
: LNT Buildings – mainly The Hub in Lockleaze.
Salary
:
Approx £27,762 pro rata from April 2026 (ie approx £16,657 a year for 0.6 FTE) – SPC 8 NJC Payscale. We aim to be a Living Wage Employer, and these three days a week could be spread across school hours if needed.

: LNT Community Activator
Holiday entitlement
: 20 days FTE pro rata (rising to 25 days after 5 years) + bank holidays and generous Christmas allowance.

: LNT runs a NEST pension scheme
