Overview
We are delighted to advertise this post as part of our commitment within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to improving access, experience, and outcomes for the diverse communities we serve across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and North Somerset. We particularly encourage applications from individuals who are underrepresented in our workforce, including Black and Brown and other ethnic minority communities, and people from wider diverse backgrounds.
The postholder will be supported and line managed by the CAMHS Clinical Lead and be based at East and Central CAMHS, Barton Hill Settlement but expected to work across all of CAMHS.
- Work with the CAMHS Senior Management Team to develop more inclusive and accessible pathways and care for ethnically diverse communities.
- Facilitate co-production with children, young people and parents/carers networks supporting mental health awareness and access.
- Facilitate positive collaborative partnerships with diverse community groups and the local statutory, voluntary and independent organisations ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are engaged and involved in the development of local services.
- Support staff learning and development of staff in CAMHS services to develop their skills and knowledge in working with ethnically diverse communities.
- Support CAMHS in recruitment and apprenticeship campaigns to increase the diversity of the local workforce.
- Communicate effectively within and between CAMHS Teams and participate in team meetings, development days, etc.
- Support data collection and provide progress reports to the CAMHS SMT and Trustwide meetings as appropriate.
- Lead on specific project work and work streams aimed at improving access to CAMHS, including PCRF and work underway alongside Barnardo’s focussed on Improving CAMHS Access and Experience for Black and Brown Young People.
- Work in conjunction with the Access, Engagement and Outreach Worker, for whom you will have line management responsibility.
