Baseline Security Clearance required Morson Edge are recruiting for Skilled Fitters to support a major Aerospace Wing Assembly programme based in Filton. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Aerospace Fitters to join a high-volume, precision manufacturing environment, working on metallic aircraft structures to strict quality and safety standards. Rates Core days: £19.40 per hour (Skilled – no stamp) £20.19 per hour (Skilled – with stamp) Weekday overtime: £24.25 per hour (no stamp) £25.24 per hour (with stamp) Weekend overtime: £29.10 per hour (no stamp) £30.29 per hour (with stamp)
The Role You will operate as a multi-skilled and flexible Aircraft Fitter, carrying out a range of structural assembly tasks on metallic aircraft components within a Wing Assembly environment. All candidates will be required to attend a metallic structures trade test at the Filton site, covering drilling, riveting, countersinking and bolting.
Key Responsibilities Percussion riveting Drill, ream and countersink panels using Vanmar tooling Set aircraft structures in build jigs Deburring and fettling using approved setting tools Localised treatment touch-up on aluminium structures Operation of CNC pillar drills (DONAU) Ensure right-first-time build and adherence to quality standards Clear work phases accurately using SAP Highlight non-conformances to the Process Team Leader Maintain housekeeping and comply with Health & Safety requirements Skills & Experience Required Level 3 indentured apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 with 3–5 years Aerospace experience Previous experience in an Aircraft Production or Aerospace Manufacturing environment Ability to work to standard operating procedures Comfortable working in small teams with Process Team Leaders Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles Self-motivated with good communication skills This is a strong opportunity for Skilled Fitters looking for ongoing contract work within a well-established Aerospace manufacturing programme.
