At our GKN Filton site we specialise in the design and manufacture of large complex structural wing assemblies detailed metallic components and wing systems for a combination of both civil and military aircraft.

The successful fabricators will be expected to work with a variety of industry equipment in carrying out various fabrication duties.

Were looking for individuals that have knowledge of Pipe Bending Swaging Drill/Ream/Countersink in panels and other skills as expected with the role.

The role will see candidatesvert day shifts on a Monday Thursday basis there is opportunity to work night shifts once fully trained which incurs an additional 33% shift premium.

In this role you will:

• Work with various materials (titanium aluminium stainless steel) in the manufacture of aircraft parts across a variety of Airbus family of aircraft
• Ensure parts are produced on a right first time basis
• Be responsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP system
• Adhere to the requirements of the GKNAF Quality Procedures
• Be accountable for Health & Safety requirements under Section 7 of the HASAWA 1974
• Hold first party inspection approval (M02 status is subject to obtaining A stamp approval)
• Be responsible for general housekeeping within the area Compliance with all risk assessments and company Environment Health & Safety Procedures relevant to all work activities

To help us make a difference youll bring your passion and talent for what you do along with the following skills experience qualifications and attributes:

Essential:

A recognised and relevant apprenticeship and relevant NVQ level 3 (Or equivalent)
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to work to standard operating procedures
• Must be able to work in small teams with Team Leaders
• Self‑motivated team player with good communication skills

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support GKNAF continuous improvement initiatives
• Ability to operate CNC Machinery (Unison Pipe Bending machines Power Presses CNC Drilling & routering)
• Experience of swaging pipework
