Job DescriptionThe Manufacturing Services Technician – Mechanical is responsible for performing mechanical fault‑finding, repairs and maintenance on a variety of production assets and all associated ancillary equipment. There is a breadth of assets including machine tools and chemical process lines. You will work alongside other skilled tradesmen to support the Manufacturing Services Leader and Manufacturing Services Engineers to ensure the organisation’s objectives and goals are delivered.

As part of the shift working agreement, you would be expected to carry out 2 weeks of dayshift (0715‑1545), followed by 2 weeks of night shift (2220‑0735), followed by 2 weeks of afternoon shift (1530‑2230). Averaging 37.5 hours per week. Local agreements apply and can be discussed.

- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant Mechanical / Maintenance apprenticeship.
- Experience working on machine tools – e.g. Okuma, Mazak, DANOBAT Newall, DMG.
- Experience fault‑finding and working on safety‑critical equipment such as machine tools, chemical process lines or similar.
- Ability to work to engineering drawings with a good understanding of mechanical principles, installation and maintenance operations.
- Experience or qualification to work on steam systems is desirable.
To work for the Rolls‑Royce Defence business an individual must hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls‑Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD‑approved cases, a dual national.
