Organisational Development Consultant Full Time, Fixed Term

Salary: BG12: £42,839 - £46,142 Closing date: 27 March 2026 This is an exciting opportunity to join our Organisational Development team as we play a key role in delivering our  Workforce Strategy within the council. You will be joining a dynamic team that works across a wide range of service areas and strategic initiatives, including leadership development, bespoke team development, coaching, and supporting transformational change programmes.

About you We are seeking an organisational development professional for a 2-year fixed term contract with experience of working with clients and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. You will be able to design and facilitate leadership development content and scope and deliver practical interventions which enable lasting behaviour change. You will be an experienced coach who has worked with clients at various levels of leadership.

You will also be able to demonstrate that you can work collaboratively, think creatively and adapt quickly to support colleagues to embrace change and associated new ways of working.

Key responsibilities include:

· designing and delivering content of our leadership development programmes.
· conducting individual and team feedback using a range of development and diagnostic tools.
· scoping and diagnosing organisational issues and designing subsequent evidence-based initiatives that drive effective change.
· coaching within our internal coaching programme, including leadership development and career development
· evaluating the effectiveness of organisational development programmes and initiatives, using appropriate methods to assess the impact on individuals and the organisation and reporting accordingly to clients and stakeholders.
· providing a high level of organisational development specialist advice and support to colleagues across the organisation. Why Bristol City Council?
