About the role

We are looking for a Housing Support Officer to manage tenancies and support tenants across a range of housing schemes. You will work closely with the Care and Management teams to resolve tenancy issues, oversee rent and service charge recovery, and maintain high standards across all properties. A proactive, compassionate, and organised approach is essential.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage rent and service charge arrears, including preparation for enforcement action and court applications

* Support tenancy sustainment and assist tenants with moves through mutual exchange, private rental, or local authority schemes

* Resolve tenancy issues including safeguarding concerns, breaches, and anti-social behaviour

* Implement and support housing policies covering allocations, transfers, and tenancy management

* Review tenant circumstances and provide recommendations for future housing options

* Liaise with maintenance teams to ensure properties are clean, safe, and well-maintained

* Engage the notice to quit process where necessary

About You

* Previous experience in housing, tenancy management, or supported housing (preferred)

* Understanding of tenancy agreements, licences, and housing legislation

* Knowledge of welfare benefits, particularly Housing Benefit

* Experience of liaising with Social Services and external agencies

* Confident interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong tenant relationships

* Strong IT skills and accurate record-keeping

* Full UK driving licence and business miles insurance (or willingness to obtain prior to starting date)

* Housing-related training or qualifications (desirable but not essential)

* Experience managing conflict in social housing or supported housing environments

* Caring, resilient, and organised, able to prioritise effectively
