Overview
The Vehicle Certification Agency is the designated UK Vehicle Type Approval Authority and is an Executive agency of the Department for Transport with over 40 years' experience supporting industry by providing internationally recognised testing and certification for vehicles, their systems, and components. The Agency headquarters are located in Bristol with additional UK offices on the HORIBA MIRA proving ground in the Midlands and on the UTAC-Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire.
This role sits within the Vehicle Frameworks and Regulatory (VFR) team, reports to the Head of VFR, and works closely with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver regulatory duties and responsibilities.
- Lead and manage the Regulatory team.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of VCA's legislation database, collaborating with users and suppliers to deliver improvements.
- Respond to framework‑related queries by identifying and analysing the relevant legislation.
- Manage and implement the UK End of Series / Non‑Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM) transitional schemes.
- Follow regulatory developments and communicate key updates to industry.
- Serve as the subject‑matter expert on all projects/programmes concerning the VFR team.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to manage VFR's portfolio of work and improve delivery of regulatory information.
- Perform any other duties commensurate with the grade.
