Job Overview

The Administrative Manager will lead and develop the administrative function for the Group PMO and provide proactive professional support to the Group Formation Officer (GFO) and the senior PMO team in both Trusts.

Main Duties

The postholder will provide a full administrative service, managing diaries and correspondence for the GFO, Group PMO Programme Director and Group Clinical Services Transformation Programme Director. They will provide day‑to‑day management and supervision of the PMO administrative support function, follow up a wide range of issues arising from correspondence and meetings, and provide project‑management support for Group PMO change programmes when required.

Essential Criteria
  • Substantial secretarial and personal assistant experience at a senior level, including working with an Executive Director
  • Experience managing projects to deadlines
  • Experience supervising or managing a team
  • Excellent knowledge and experience using MS Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Significant experience taking minutes and creating reports and project documentation
  • Strong understanding of the local healthcare sector and wider political context within BNSSG
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations, using diplomacy to manage internal and external stakeholder expectations
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy department/service, adjusting to change and motivating others
Desirable Criteria
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM) or equivalent experience
