Associate - Project Management

Role Purpose

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate to join our Bristol Project Management team. The successful candidate will have experience in delivering locally based projects to a variety of client groups, managing key client accounts and providing a significant contribution to multi‑disciplinary teams as well as supporting the management and direction of our national Project Management group. This is a fast‑paced team with an expanding workload, giving substantial room for both horizontal and vertical growth.

You will report to a Director with capacity to run projects from day one and will need to demonstrate experience with new‑build commercial projects and the ability to build strong relationships with property consultants and contractors alike. Additional opportunities include working on pitches and cross‑selling other areas of business.

• Lead day‑to‑day delivery of major projects for funds, developers and occupiers.
• Select, appoint and manage design teams for development of design solutions, planning applications and statutory approvals.
• Administer complex building contracts, ensuring contractors comply with contract terms and conditions.
• Assist with the compilation of tender documents, critical review of tender returns, contract negotiations and client reporting.
• Develop project documentation, fee schedules, programme, risk schedules and master budget.
• Produce client reports suitable for all project stages.
• Manage client relationships throughout the project cycle.
• Interpret contracts, design and implement change management, resolve contractual disputes, design and implement project controls, contract correspondence and contract close‑out.
• Engage in business development both internally (property consulting) and externally with existing clients.
• Lead projects for a variety of clients, managing large, complex schemes ranging from £5m to £100m+.
• Deliver high‑quality project management services from inception to completion.
• Develop and nurture client relationships.
• Work proactively and self‑motivated, with excellent verbal, numerical and report/proposal writing skills.
• Manage time effectively and maintain strong organisational skills.
• Remain flexible and perform under pressure.
• Possess good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Project and Outlook.
• Present yourself well and communicate effectively.
• Integrate into a dynamic and supportive project management team.
• Identify opportunities to secure profitable work with specialist property consultancy colleagues.

• Technical background (QS / PM / BS ideally) with post‑qualification experience; MRICS, CIOB or a similar Project Management qualification considered.
• Experience with JCT and NEC contract administration.
• Strong background in new‑build commercial buildings and significant refurbishment projects.
