Keystones are recruiting for 1 full time Service Manager post. We are looking for a warm, dedicated, resilient and skilled individual to join our dynamic and supportive team.
We support adults with significant mental health needs, living in our houses and move on flats in North Bristol. The successful applicant will join our experienced management team, shaping the service in line with our values and vision. We have a multi-disciplinary team of Mental Health Workers and Therapists, offering 1:1 mental health and tenancy support, groups and activities in the community.
The role will involve working with service users in a Trauma Informed way, to improve wellbeing and facilitate positive change. We value our team and prioritise creating a supportive and rewarding working environment.
Previous experience is essential and a relevant qualification advantageous.
Key Details- Working hours are 10am – 6pm, Monday to Friday
- £40,000 per annum

- The Service Manager will join our established management team, supporting the Managing Directors, Finance and Housing Manager and Operations Manager to ensure the smooth running of the service.
- Conduct regular Supervisions for 6-7 Mental Health Workers, as well as annual appraisals.
- Overseeing and responding to the HR needs of the team, alongside the Operations Manager and MD; using support from our Employment Law service, Citation.
- Monitoring Staff Wellbeing and helping to implement regular team building activities and activities to support self‑care and good working conditions.
- Update Rotas to ensure the smooth running of the service, adapting to Service Users care needs.
- Training – oversee staff training (induction and regular team courses) and embed an ethos of continuous learning and improvement.
- Recruitment – updating application forms, advertising roles, shortlisting and interviewing, and implementing our induction process.
- Mentoring Mental Health Workers and supporting them with their personal development.
- Manage all resources to ensure the service works effectively.
- Ensure the whole service adheres to policies and procedures, legal and regulatory requirements including safeguarding adults, health and safety, information governance, and equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Referrals – read support plans, liaise with Social Workers and other referrers, conduct informal assessments and set up new placements.
- Support to manage incidents that require escalation, including leading debriefs.
- Ensure information is being recorded appropriately on Keystones Information Portal (KIP).
- Complete regular Audits, House Checks and Risk Assessments.
- Edit Internal Reviews; our process for recording Service Users goals and how we will help them achieve these during keyworker sessions – supporting Mental Health Workers to complete them with Service Users.
- Tenancy support for Service Users – provide manager support and follow up for managing daily living skills, manage the home, mediation, follow the Warning Procedure during placement breakdowns and try to resolve issues arising.
- Keep abreast of external developments in the Health and Social Care sector to proactively plan for, and implement changes in service delivery.
- Ensure good relationships with other services, professionals, and the wider community.
- Oversee medication procedures.
- Lead staff handovers and team meetings.
- Manage our supported houses within Health and Safety regulations.
- Work in adherence to Trauma Informed Principles and Keystones’ values and vision.
- Champion and embed organisational change to meet evolving business needs.
- Service Development – keep up to date with best practice, network, share ideas and implement strategies to improve the way we work; ensure all development is in line with Keystones’ ethos and objectives.
- Experience in the Health and Social Care/Mental Health Sector (2 years minimum)
