Role descriptionWe have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Commercial Director with experience in service delivery excellence and team management. The role leads and grows the cost and commercial delivery of Residential and Commercial Development projects across South West England and South Wales; driving and enhancing our commercial offering, service, performance and client experience.
Role accountabilities- Support the internal team and manage resources on technically complex projects/programmes typically ranging between £1m and £100m.
- Lead and grow a team, utilising resources to deliver projects within cost, time and quality standards and bring significant technical knowledge to the field.
- Coach and develop team members, sharing knowledge to raise team skill level and improve service delivery standards.
- Create project costings and budgets, managing finances to ensure profit and budgetary targets are met and best‑value outcomes achieved.
- Lead and manage individual cost‑management assignments from inception to completion, ensuring delivery standards meet client expectations.
- Understand client key objectives and deliver appropriate sector expertise.
- Monitor and review performance and behaviour of all team members, influencing others and ensuring compliance with organisational policies and codes of conduct.
- Assure compliance with contracts in terms of project delivery parameters and scope of service.
- Analyse complex data and documents, providing recommendations to support project decision‑making.
- Apply industry best practice to support the development of current cost and commercial management systems and processes.
- Drive innovation to increase team contribution to project delivery.
- Manage customer relationships to identify opportunities to improve the cost‑management offering and deliver customer satisfaction.
- Act as a key technical resource within cost/commercial management, providing advice and solutions to internal colleagues to support successful project delivery.
- Build valued relationships with senior clients and stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction, develop the cost‑management service and create new business opportunities.
- Chartered professional with relevant cost and commercial management experience, including delivery of medium/large projects ranging from £1m to £100m+ across an entire project life cycle.
- Experienced people manager with strong leadership skills, able to motivate others.
- Proven ability to build and manage client relationships at senior‑management level, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Excellent communication skills, able to liaise and share knowledge with peers and senior colleagues.
- Commercial acumen and organisational understanding.
- Knowledge of the South West market, particularly Exeter and Bristol.
- Knowledge of the South Wales/Cardiff market is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Relevant professional qualification or chartered status.
- CSCS card holder.
