As Joiner at Sodexo, we’re looking for someone who keeps things running smoothly—the one who knows how to solve problems, offer expert advice, and ensure the hospital estate operates at its best. As a Joiner at Haywood Hospital, you'll be the go‑to expert for technical support and maintenance across equipment, building systems, and utility services.

• Deliver planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on building fabric including doors, windows, walls, floors, ceilings, and fixtures.
• Maintain and repair fire doors, compartmentation, fire stopping, and passive fire protection systems in line with HTM 05-02 and fire safety regulations.
• Respond to reactive maintenance issues, carrying out repairs to walls, ceilings, flooring, joinery, ironmongery, locks, and access control systems.
• Complete minor construction and fabrication works such as installing shelves, cupboards, worktops, locks, and security fittings.
• Work safely and compliantly, following risk assessments, PPE requirements, COSHH, and Working at Height regulations.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment effectively, managing materials and personal stock responsibly.
• Support clinical and non‑clinical areas by adapting spaces and working professionally within patient‑facing environments.
• Maintain accurate records using CAFM systems and collaborate with team members while participating in ongoing training and development.

• Professional, reliable and conscientious individual with a proactive and enthusiastic approach to work.
• Confident and capable decision‑maker with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to remain logical under pressure.
• Self‑motivated and adaptable, able to manage changing priorities and respond appropriately to urgent situations.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements, including safe systems of work, RAMS, and compliance standards.
• Effective communication, interpersonal and report‑writing skills, with good computer literacy.
• Relevant trade qualification (Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 2/3) and experience within a maintenance or engineering environment.
• Desirable certifications including IOSH, Asbestos Awareness, PASMA/IPAF, and Fire Door Installation/Maintenance, with knowledge of passive fire protection.
• Experience working in occupied or healthcare environments, with awareness of infection prevention and control principles and healthcare‑specific standards.
