Family Solicitor | Private Law Children and Domestic Abuse team

A leading UK law firm in Bristol is seeking a Solicitor to join its Private Law Children and Domestic Abuse team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced family law solicitor or legal executive to join a highly regarded practice with a strong reputation for client care and technical excellence.

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of privately and legal aid funded matters, with a particular focus on private law children and domestic abuse work. You will deliver high-quality legal advice in a commercially aware and empathetic manner, ensuring exceptional client service at all times.

• Manage a caseload of family law matters efficiently and effectively
• Provide clear, pragmatic advice to clients, managing expectations regarding outcomes, risk, and timescales
• Scope and manage fees for existing clients
• Demonstrate strong market and sector knowledge, building your expertise within family law
• Assist in developing and maintaining a strong risk management culture within the team
• Build and maintain internal and external client and intermediary networks
• Contribute to business development by attending networking events, writing articles, and speaking at seminars
• Support with departmental pitches and marketing initiatives
• Supervise and mentor junior team members as required
• Meet individual performance targets and KPIs
• Support budgetary management of client matters

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with proven experience in private law children and domestic abuse work
• Experience handling both legal aid and privately funded cases
• Strong client relationship management skills with a focus on delivering outstanding service
• Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to business development
• Ability to manage own workload and delegate effectively
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers (desirable)
