Associate Solicitor - Court of Protection - 4-8 PQE - Bristol
A leading national Top 100 law firm is seeking an Associate to join its specialist Court of Protection team, focusing exclusively on property and financial affairs for clients who lack capacity. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long term, stable caseload within a well resourced and forward thinking department.
The RoleYou will manage a dedicated COP finance caseload, including:
- Managing finances and property for individuals lacking capacity
- Working closely with families, deputies and professional attorneys
- Supporting long term client relationships, often lasting many years
- Ensuring financial decisions comply with legal duties and best interests principles
This is a pure COP finance role - no mixed caseload. Private Client solicitors will be considered if they are fully committed to specialising in this area.
This team is known for its strong infrastructure and modern approach to working:
- A large support team handles payments, billing and administrative processes
- Extensive use of AI, automation and Power Apps to streamline workflows
- Fee earners are freed up to focus on client relationships and complex decision making
- Has experience in Court of Protection finance work, or strong Private Client experience with a clear commitment to COP
- Can manage your own caseload confidently and independently
- Communicates with empathy, clarity and professionalism
- Enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive national team
- Wants to build a long term career in a growing and respected practice
