Salary:
Competitive: £45,000 to £55,000, depending on experience
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled and motivated Solicitor to join a respected Public Law and Human Rights team, specialising in Court of Protection welfare matters. This role offers the chance to work on cases that directly impact the lives of vulnerable individuals, safeguarding their rights and ensuring their voices are heard in complex decisions about health, care and personal welfare.
From the outset, you will manage your own caseload, supervise junior colleagues and contribute to the continued growth and strong national reputation of the department. This is a deeply rewarding role where your work will make a meaningful difference from day one.
The RoleYou will play a vital role in representing clients in matters including:
- Disputes over medical treatment
- Residence and care arrangements
- Best interests decisions
This work requires technical expertise, empathy and resilience, as well as the ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion.
About YouIn this role, you will:
- Manage your own caseload while supporting Partners and senior colleagues
- Supervise junior team members and contribute to their development
- Build relationships with organisations and community groups to strengthen the client offering and generate new work
- Play an active role in developing the team's established reputation
- Work directly with vulnerable clients, delivering high quality advice with empathy and integrity
We are seeking someone who:
- Has 0-2 years' PQE with proven experience managing their own cases
- Demonstrates enthusiasm for Court of Protection welfare work
- Shows resilience under pressure and a commitment to client care
- Can work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Is committed to securing justice and the best outcomes for clients
- Has a connection to Bristol or the wider South West
