Pensions Lawyer - Associate - Managing Associate Bristol (All offices)
About The Team: The Freeths Pensions team is entering an exciting phase of growth, led by Partner James Dean, who recently joined us from Simmons & Simmons. We’re on a bold journey to elevate our pensions practice in line with the firm’s wider success. Our client base is expanding to include elite trustee clients, significant corporate project work, and public sector pensions including LGPS and central government departments with multi‑billion‑pound liabilities.
The team works closely with our busy and high‑performing corporate department, offering a mix of trustee advisory, corporate support, and public sector pensions work.
About The Role: The team is in expansion mode and is looking for pension lawyers who can be based from any of our regional offices, especially Bristol, Birmingham, Nottingham, Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester. You’ll be working alongside highly experienced pensions specialists with expertise across all areas of pensions law. We’re a friendly, collegiate team that values collaboration, idea‑sharing, and contributions from all levels.
You’ll be expected to deliver technically excellent advice in a clear, accessible way – translating complex pensions jargon into practical guidance for clients. We’re committed to your growth and development, offering support, mentorship, and opportunities to shape the future of the team. Applications are invited from lawyers who have trained and qualified with a recognised pensions team. Ideally you will be between 2‑10 years PQE, however we encourage applications whatever your PQE or experience as the team are very much in growth mode.
