Reporting & Analytics Engineer

Overview

ARAG UK, a market-leading insurance and legal services provider, is looking for a Reporting and Analytics Engineer to join our Information Management Team in Bristol. This role focuses on designing and building end‑user visualisations, reports, and ad‑hoc analysis in collaboration with the Data Engineering team and business stakeholders.

• Design and build paginated reports and dashboards using SSRS and Power BI in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Build and enhance datasets for report consumption using TSQL.
• Work with the data warehouse team to improve coverage and create KPIs.
• Gather detailed requirements, foster idea generation, ensure BI solutions increase efficiency, enhance decision‑making, and optimise operations.
• Resolve queries and issues related to BI tools, services, and data.
• Ensure BI processes, including data refreshes and report generation, run smoothly; resolve failures or errors in scheduled jobs, investigate data discrepancies and document solutions.
• Document all solutions and ensure compliance with standards and best practices before release.

• Strong experience with SQL, SSRS, Power BI, and TSQL.
• Experience building datasets for report consumption from a data warehouse.
• Solid understanding of Kimball methodologies and principles.
• Advanced proficiency in DAX.
• Experience with the Microsoft technology stack and Azure (preferred).
• Excellent problem‑solving, planning, and communication skills with a “can‑do” attitude.
• Ability to work well in a team and think creatively and laterally.
