Location: Bristol (BNSSG) (Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire)
Contract: Fixed-term (18–24 months) |
Hours: up to 37.5 (flexible working available)
Salary: £65,000–£75,000 (dependent on experience)

We’re recruiting an Interim Head of Digital, Data and Technology to lead purposeful modernisation while keeping our 24/7 digital foundations secure, reliable and resilient.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and sitting on our Extended Leadership Team, you’ll have real scope to shape priorities, bring clarity to risk and assurance, and build momentum across the organisation.
What you’ll lead- Digital, data and technology strategy and delivery, aligned to organisational priorities
- A clear architecture and realistic, costed roadmap
- Secure, reliable, resilient infrastructure supporting 24/7 services
- Service levels across infrastructure, applications and end‑user support
- Cyber security, accreditations and proactive cyber risk management
- Information governance and data protection compliance
- Applications development and maintenance, keeping systems supportable and secure
- Data for insight, performance management and decision‑making
- Budgets, suppliers and contracts, ensuring value for money
A capable digital, data and technology team and strong cross‑organisation relationships
- Senior leadership experience across digital/technology with organisation‑wide impact
- Strong operational IT leadership, ideally in complex or 24/7 environments
- Experience turning strategy into clear priorities and delivered improvements
- Supplier, contract and budget management
- Cyber security, information governance and risk/assurance in a regulated setting
- Confident communication with both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Helpful: ITIL, PRINCE2 or equivalent (or a pragmatic approach to similar frameworks)
Desirable: NHS/healthcare or another regulated public service context.
