This is an exciting time to join LUC‘s People & Culture team. We are in a period of continued growth and success, about to celebrate our 60th anniversary in 2026 and embarking on a series of strategic People projects over the next three years. We are adding a People Partner to our diverse and ambitious People and Culture team (team of seven, growing to nine in 2026, to support approx.

320 employees). The role would suit someone who has strong business partnering and/or generalist HR experience who enjoys working closely with line managers and wants to get involved with some major impact initiatives.

The People Partner will be responsible for creating strong working relationships with key stakeholders and being a go to point of contact for their responsible area. The People Partner will provide sound advice on all things People-related and ensuring support on employee relations cases is fair and consistent. You will work with the wider People and Culture team to ensure best HR practice is provided to the business.

This new and exciting role will be within the People and Culture team, supporting in carving out business partnerships, whilst providing excellent HR advice and support to the business. There will be opportunities to bring your expertise to our team by being involved with projects that cover our Team plan but also our wider 3-year business plan.

Employment Law & Policy Guidance
  • Provide accurate, up-to-date advice on employment law, organisational policies, and best practice.
  • Support the review, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all HR activities are compliant with statutory requirements and internal governance.
  • Keep abreast of legislative changes and assess their impact on the organisation
ER Case Management
  • Manage a varied caseload including absence management, probation, and performance issues, as well as (less frequently) disciplinaries and grievances.
  • Support and coach managers through formal and informal ER processes, ensuring fair and consistent application
  • Escalate complex or high‑risk cases appropriately
Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)
  • Support the delivery of EDI initiatives, strategy, and training opportunities
  • Provide guidance on reasonable adjustments, inclusive people management, and equitable career development.
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve employee engagement and organisational culture
  • Advise managers on wellbeing risk factors, reasonable adjustments, and supportive interventions.
  • Support wellbeing programmes, events, and resources
Business Partnering
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with managers and teams.
  • Understand operational goals and workforce needs to provide proactive people solutions.
  • Influence decision‑making using insight and expertise, not just process.
  • Work collaboratively to support organisational change and continuous improvement.
Data Management & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate employee data and ensure compliance with data protection requirements.
  • Interpret people metrics (e.g., turnover, absence, ER activity) to identify trends and recommend actions.
  • Deliver regular and ad‑hoc reports to stakeholders.
  • Support the development of dashboards and improved data processes

The role includes the opportunity to share and participate actively in the management and ownership of the business through the Employee Ownership Trust, which places full ownership of the company with the employees.

The role is based in LUC’s office in Bristol. We work in a hybrid model with people being in the office a minimum of two days per week. There will also be travel required to visit sites, client offices and other office locations.

A full‑time role is based on 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday). However, LUC has a strong track record in flexible working, and we have been recognised for our flexible working culture, so we are happy to discuss a range of flexible working options for this role including part time hours (minimum 30 hours per week) if desired.
