The Resuscitation Team are looking for a motivated individual who will play a key role in delivering high quality resuscitation services across the North Bristol Trust sites. The post holder will primarily teach on resuscitation courses, support the delivery of quality improvement projects and audits within the Resuscitation Team. The post holder will also be required to carry a pager and respond to clinical emergency and cardiac arrest calls across the main Southmead Hospital site to support the Clinical Emergency Team (CET).
The post holder will work within the Corporate Clinical Education Team under the direction of the Deputy Head of Education and Operational Leads for Resuscitation Leads, and link with the extended Nursing, Quality, and Clinical Governance Directorate.
- Maintaining specialist knowledge in resuscitation and deteriorating patient and provide specialist advice and guidance to the clinical services.
- Co-ordination and management of delivery for resuscitation training across the Trust and associated agencies in accordance with the current Resuscitation Council UK guidelines.
- Lead the delivery of Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid training sessions.
- Support the delivery of national courses such as Immediate Life Support (ILS), Advanced Life Support (ALS) and the European Trauma Course (ETC).
- Assist the Operational Leads for Resuscitation with planning and delivering in situ simulation teaching through live demonstrations, scenario‑based learning, and clinical training.
- Provide education, supervision, and assessment to the Trust’s multi‑disciplinary workforce.
- Provide professional and clinical support/advice, within scope of practice, in all aspects of resuscitation across the Trust and to its associated agencies.
- Represent the Resuscitation Services Department (RSD) and wider organisation in a professional manner demonstrating and reflecting the values and vision of the organisation.
- Monitor, develop and improve standards of resuscitation by promoting evidence‑based practice and ensuring compliance with national and local guidance, e.g., NICE, Resuscitation Council UK.
