We directly deliver Mental Health, Physical Health, Pharmacy and Clinical Substance Misuse in an integrated healthcare delivery model to provide effective and responsive care that improves wellbeing and supports better outcomes in the future.

Our Band 5 nurses are given the opportunity to undertake a development pathway with a clear competency framework that focuses on both clinical and personal skills. This pathway enables you to apply for more senior positions once your competencies have been met.

• 3 × 12.5‑hour shifts (7:00 am–7:30 pm) per week for 3 weeks.
  • 4 × 12.5‑hour shifts (7:00 am–7:30 pm) on the 4th week.
  • One shift will be protected for mandatory training, supervision and administration on site.
  • 2 weekends in every 6‑week roster (both Saturday and Sunday).
  • One set of 3‑night shifts every 12‑week roster (7:00 pm–7:30 am), 2 per annum on weekends.

• Deliver high‑quality clinical care within the Integrated Healthcare Service, including acute & primary care, long‑term condition management, enhanced assessment and diagnostic intervention services, and health promotion activities.
• Carry a radio and be competent to lead in medical emergency responses.
• Provide robust expert clinical skills with evidence‑based practice to ensure a proactive, outcome‑driven approach on a day‑to‑day basis.
• Support the development of evidence‑based practice and promote research as appropriate.
• Participate in managerial and professional clinical supervision, training, annual appraisal and ensure it becomes integral to team practice.
• Implement patient‑centred care planning tools, long‑term condition registers and consistent delivery across all prisons within the service.
• Work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead, GPs and other clinicians to meet and review service needs.
• Be part of skilled multidisciplinary teams comprising all healthcare staff, strategic partners and prison management to manage a single referral pathway.
• Undertake training to maximise uptake of screening, health promotion and prevention activity, including vaccinations.
