Overview
Job Purpose:
The post holder will be responsible for booking outpatients appointments according to the Access Policy. To deliver excellent customer care on the telephone and ensure doctors’ clinics are fully utilised. Referral to treatment targets will be understood and followed as essential in processing patients’ referrals.
- Book outpatients appointments according to the Access Policy.
- Deliver excellent customer care on the telephone.
- Ensure doctors’ clinics are fully utilised.
- Understand and follow Referral to treatment targets as part of processing patients’ referrals.
- Organise doctors’ clinics to open/close for annual leave and ED cover in accordance with availability.
- Answer telephone calls, email queries and book appointments as necessary.
- Enter and update accurate information on Careflow and for patients’ records in a timely way.
- Maintain and manage Partial Booking Lists for new and follow-up patients to support effective patient management within targets.
- Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, other trusts and external agencies, applying discretion and tact in written, telephone, email, and face-to-face contact.
- Adhere to all relevant policies and promote changes to working practices to improve service delivery.
- Maintain and promote health and safety of self, patients and staff.
- Attend relevant meetings as directed by the line manager.
- Undertake any other suitable task as agreed with the line manager.
- Check incoming mailboxes from the Call Centre and update patients’ appointments accordingly.
- Upload patients’ e-RS referrals into Evolve and process referrals in Evolve.
