We have an exciting opportunity to join our inpatient ward team as a Ward Housekeeper on the Gastroenterology and Endocrine ward.
Main dutiesThe Housekeeper role is patient facing. You will lead the meal service by helping patients complete menus, delivering meals and hot drinks, clearing away meals, and assisting with snacks. You will be responsible for topping up supplies, ordering equipment, cleaning and maintaining clinical equipment, ensuring the ward area is clean, welcoming and tidy, and reporting faults and completing general admin tasks.
This role requires someone with an interest in nutrition, who can work proactively and has excellent communication and organisational skills. The successful candidate must be able to work well under pressure due to competing demands. The post holder will need to be computer confident and willing to undertake training to be self-reliant using multiple NHS applications. They must be willing to work with the dietitians to ensure patient meal choices and nutritional intake are appropriate for their requirements.
We are looking for someone who can work 23 hours per week. Shifts are 11.5 hours per day and will be covered on a rotational basis, 7.00 am – 19:30 pm, including some weekends and bank holidays.

- Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 or equivalent
- Evidence of full time education achievements
- IT skills, basic word, email, keyboard skills, data collection
- Ability and willingness to undertake appropriate training
