We are recruiting for a Head of Clinical Services to join a leading ophthalmology provider across multiple Bristol sites.
Reporting to the Clinical Directors, you will lead clinical strategy, governance and operational delivery, ensuring high standards of patient care and regulatory compliance. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, monitor clinical performance, and build strong relationships with NHS and ICB stakeholders.
Duties
Lead the development and implementation of clinical protocols, standards and training programmes
Oversee professional registration, CPD compliance and audit readiness in line with CQC, NHS and ICB standards
Contribute to Clinical Governance processes and represent the organisation at relevant industry forums
Monitor clinical KPIs and patient outcomes, leading continuous improvement initiatives
Drive adoption of advanced diagnostic technologies including OCT, biometry and glaucoma pathways
Oversee all planned outpatient clinical activity across multiple sites
Manage and develop a large multidisciplinary clinical team
Build and maintain relationships with ICBs, NHS Trusts, Health Boards and Primary Care stakeholders
Essential:
GOC registered Optometrist
10+ years post-qualification experience, including senior clinical leadership
Strong background in clinical governance and CQC/NHS standards
Proven team leadership and stakeholder management experience
