We're seeking a Senior Physiotherapist to join our dynamic REACT Team, primarily based in the Emergency Department at Bristol Royal Infirmary.
REACT is a fast-paced, multi-professional service made up of Nurses, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, supported by Advanced Practitioners. Together, we manage a diverse and complex caseload, delivering urgent care and supporting patients across BNSSG.
Working closely with community therapy and nursing colleagues, the REACT pathway ensures seamless patient journeys by preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and enabling early, safe discharge. This is a truly innovative service operating at the intersection of hospital and community care, offering the best of both worlds.

Main duties of the jobThe REACT Team (Rapid Emergency Assessment Care Team) based in emergency departments of Southmead Hospital and Bristol Royal Infirmary, aims to assess and discharge appropriate patients and prevent any unnecessary hospital stays.
In this role you will be able to use your skills and knowledge working with a wide range of both acute and chronic conditions. Our pace is fast moving and our clinical caseload is diverse providing support to patients across BNSSG.
The team are multidisciplinary with Nurses, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and provide a Monday to Friday 7:30-19:30 service (and there is also an opportunity to flex into our community team at weekends). Your role will involve assessing medically stable patients who are referred from the emergency zone and providing any treatment and advice needed to confirm discharge suitability. You will work closely with all areas of the community in health, social and voluntary sectors to ensure there is appropriate follow up to support the patients and facilitate a timely discharge.

Person Specification Qualifications- Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
- Specialist knowledge and application of PT assessments and treatment techniques relevant to community
- Current HCPC registration
- Able to work autonomously, planning and prioritising own workload and others workload.
- Able to make judgements on a range of complex conditions and physiotherapy issues which require investigation, analysis & assessment
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary setting
- Experience of supervising staff and students of own and other professions
- Experience and understanding of community Teams and services
- Experience of the application of health, safety and risk management policies
