The Pharmacy Support Services Supervisor has responsibility for the provision and management of stock medicinal products to all wards and departments throughout the trust. The post holder will be expected to work closely with the pharmacy distribution team to ensure that all stock medicinal products are available, held in a safe and suitable environment and fit for purpose when issued.

The post holder is responsible for the daily supervision of all staff working in the pharmacy distribution team and will be expected to liaise with pharmacy purchasing and distribution storekeepers regarding outstanding orders and any/all stock supply issues. The post holder will also provide the necessary oversight of mentoring/training the ATO’s within the department.

• Understand and comply with MHRA requirements for the purchase, receipt, storage and issue of stock medicinal products, fluids and feeds.
• Provide supervision and mentoring to the ATO’S/SATO’s regarding their day-to-day duties, responsibilities, and training to ensure the safe, timely and cost-effective provision of all stock medicinal products, fluids and feeds throughout the trust.
• To supervise and mentor the pharmacy porters, ensuring the safe and timely transfer of all stock medicinal products, fluids and feeds throughout the trust.
• Oversee operation of the unit and ordering such supplies as are necessary.
• To supervise the implementation of service innovations and developments.
