Shift Pattern: 36 hours weekly, usually one 12‑hour shift (8 am‑8 pm or 8 pm‑8 am) and one 24‑hour shift (8 pm‑8 pm). Flexibility required.
Hours:
36 per week with opportunity to pick up extra shifts.
Paid break: 1 hour per 12‑hour shift.
Holiday entitlement: 5.6 weeks pro‑rata.
About the RoleThe role supports a client with a physical disability who is unable to walk and relies on an electric wheelchair. Tasks include daily living support, personal care, household chores, errands, and companionship. The applicant may work a mix of day, evening, and overnight shifts. Some shifts may involve accompanying the client to work or leisure activities.
Responsibilities- Assist with personal care tasks such as dressing, toileting, and grooming.
- Prepare meals, handle laundry, clean and maintain the living environment.
- Accompany the client to shopping trips, dog walks, appointments, and social events.
- Provide companionship and support, keeping the client safe and engaged.
- Manage client schedule, text for assistance and maintain communication.
- Maintain a quiet, professional environment during overnight shifts.
- Use available facilities (room, wifi, desk) to self‑manage downtime.
- Travel with the client on occasional holidays or trips to London.
- Organised, reliable, and able to follow instructions.
- Respectful of client privacy and confidentiality.
- Calm, patient, caring, friendly, with a good sense of humour.
- Motivated, enthusiastic, mature, and responsible.
- Presentable and a good conversationalist.
- Good time‑keeper and able to handle flexible shift patterns.
- Preferred: driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
