Overview

Plimsoll is looking for a Finance Assistant to start as soon as possible, working within the Finance Department in our Bristol Office. This is a pivotal role in a fast-paced environment in a growing company. We need someone with an eye for detail and the tenacity to see tasks through to resolution. The role is to assist the Finance Team with the day to day running of the accounts system of a busy TV Production company and to assist with some management accounting duties.

Responsibilities
  • Purchase ledger – Maintain supplier data base, match purchase orders to supplier invoices, process invoices on PMI (our accounting software), investigate and resolve discrepancies, reconcile supplier statements, and process payment lists ready for approval, set up bank payments.
  • Petty cash/travel cards – Organise advances, both GBP and foreign currency, process claims and ensure VAT correctly analysed and receipts attached prior to uploading to the accounts system.
  • Credit Card Administration – Reconcile corporate card statements and ensure VAT correctly analysed and receipts attached prior to uploading to the accounts system.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Support the team in identifying and implementing process improvements, and training non-finance staff.
  • Respond to specific enquiries from across the wider Plimsoll team.
  • Assist the Management Accountant with the preparation of the monthly management accounts/MI reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of ITV group reporting data and documentation.
  • Preparation of monthly overheads analysis.
  • Assist with the annual company audit and the preparation of documentation for this.
  • Assist the Management Accountant with Finance business partnering the operations department.
  • Produce ad hoc financial information and analysis as required.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in a finance department
  • Studying for an accounting qualification (minimum AAT)
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and computerised accounts packages
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of the TV production industry is desirable but not essential
