This is a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys improving systems, ensuring compliance and reporting accuracy, and supporting the CFO in maintaining strong financial governance as the business grows and evolves.
Key Responsibilities Lead month end process and produce accurate management accounts with clear commentary and analysis.
Manage cashflow forecasting, working capital and balance sheet integrity.
Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, pensions and daily finance operations.
Prepare and submit compliant VAT returns.
Lead statutory accounts preparation and coordinate annual audits.
Manage grant related finance processes, including claims and external audits where relevant.
Track R&D expenditure, capital investment and cost structures, including inventory accounting.
Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls.
Improve reporting efficiency using Xero (or similar) and advanced Excel capability.
Line manage and mentor a member of the team. About you The ideal candidate will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or bring strong experience that demonstrates equivalent capability) and comfortable working in a growing, evolving business. Experience in manufacturing, engineering or a similarly complex operational environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
You are likely to thrive in this role if you have confidence owning the full finance cycle.
Bring experience managing audits and financial compliance processes.
Possess strong technical skills across Excel and accounting software.
Are detail?focused, organised and commercially minded.
Can build productive relationships across diverse teams.
