Working within the Financial Reporting team, as Manager, you will provide technical advice and support primarily in relation to the creation of the new Agency subsidiary, the National Housing Bank (NHB), but also across all Agency programmes and initiatives to ensure projects are accounted for correctly, preparing and reviewing reports and accounting papers to be utilised by staff with varying levels of accountancy knowledge.
Jobdescription
There will be significant responsibility to ensure consolidated annual accounts for the NHB are prepared on time, to standard, are free from material misstatements and are given a clean audit opinion.
You will be joining an enthusiastic, motivated team who have a range of skills to help our delivery colleagues realise our housing and regeneration ambitions.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver the NHB in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key senior stakeholders and professionals across Finance you will act as a Finance contact to challenge proposals and provide consistent and robust financial advice.
Person specificationWhilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to our stakeholders across the Agency, you will be used to "spinning several plates" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate. You'll be comfortable supporting the Senior Manager and Head of Financial Reporting with complex accounting issues and to be a key Finance contact for technical queries from staff across the Agency.
Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level, challenging senior stakeholders in a constructive way, raising complex issues and working with your wider Finance colleagues to resolve those issues. Your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as Finance team.
As an experienced finance professional, you’ll understand how to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
This role requires the post holder to have a recognised professional accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, or CIMA and be a member of professional accountancy body.
