KeyAccountabilities / Responsibilities
- Liaising with the relevant Group Finance teams regarding payroll deductions and balance sheet queries.
- Investigate queries from our balance sheet controls and find solutions independently.
- Help manage the emails in relation to all banking and finance queries.
- Prepare payroll journals for the finance department using payroll reports to ensure accurate entry into the general ledger.
- Run a set of monthly compliance reports and analyse and conclude from the data reporting back to management.
- Reconcile and monitor bank accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Manage over payments, including informing ex-colleagues of over payments, responding to subsequent queries, and making records of this process accurately.
- Hold strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NI, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.) and auto-enrolment rules.
- Any other tasks as directed.
Essential
- Able to work to a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent IT skills, including strong Excel and mathematical skills.
- Clear and confident communication skills.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across teams and collaborate to resolve queries.
- A strong team ethic.
- Confident in dealing with a high-volume workload with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Flexible approach to work and a positive attitude to taking on new tasks.
Desirable
- Knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations and journal knowledge.
- Experience of responding to and monitoring over payments queries.
- Knowledge of Dayforce and Oracle systems.
