Our client is seeking a motivated Corporate Tax Assistant Manager to join their established tax team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional looking to take the next step in their career, working with a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries while developing leadership and technical skills.

• Manage a portfolio of 80-120 corporate clients including SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and group companies
• Prepare and review corporation tax returns, computations, and supporting documentation
• Provide corporation tax compliance advice and manage statutory filing deadlines
• Handle correspondence with HMRC on behalf of clients including enquiries and disputes
• Supervise and mentor junior team members, reviewing their work and providing technical guidance
• Assist with ad-hoc tax advisory projects including capital allowances, loss relief planning, and group reorganisations
• Support business development activities and help maintain strong client relationships
• Ensure compliance with professional standards and firm quality procedures
• Stay updated with tax legislation changes and attend technical training sessions
• Assist managers with complex technical issues and project work

• ATT or CTA qualification (or studying towards) with strong technical knowledge
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in UK corporation tax compliance
• Experience with tax software (Digita, Alpha Tax, or similar)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Experience supervising junior staff or willingness to develop management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• ACA, ACCA, or equivalent accounting qualification advantageous

• Multi-sector client experience across various industries
• Knowledge of group taxation and consolidation
• Experience with capital allowances and R&D tax credits
• Previous practice experience in medium to large firms
• Understanding of international tax basics
• VAT knowledge
