We take the time to understand our customers and our door is always open, so we can often help when other lenders can’t or won’t. Based in Cheadle, Cheshire, our 750 colleagues help our customers throughout the UK, backed by the power of a £7 billion loan book.

Job Description

As a Corporate Portfolio Director, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Corporate Customers across the South West, some of whom will have complex needs or may experience challenges that need support/corrective measures to protect the loan book. You will work with the Exec team to deliver appropriate risk strategies and credit limits for your portfolio. Working to achieve a commercially balanced sustainable solution, assessing the credit position and identifying the right option suitable to meet both the Customer and business needs.

This will include assessing new lending opportunities and maintaining an ongoing review of the Customer’s wider business to identify credit appetite.

Responsibilities
  • Develop relationships at all levels with your portfolio of Corporate Customers and senior stakeholders to enable successful business relationships and grow the loan book.
  • Actively own and manage allocated corporate accounts by implementing credit strategies to effectively minimise credit risk; providing solutions and creating potential lending opportunities where appropriate.
  • Manage, track & analyse departmental data to support the decision‑making process.
  • Work with the wider business to identify & manage horizon risks.
  • Maintain strong & relevant industry knowledge across all asset types, sectors and regions.
  • Support the management of the department by identifying process opportunities to improve the outcome for Customers and the business.
Qualifications
  • Strong relationship and portfolio management experience.
  • Expert knowledge of the commercial & residential lending market.
  • Deep knowledge of credit management strategies.
  • Ability to effectively challenge and influence key stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of financial accounts & cash flow forecasts.

If you feel you have some of the skills mentioned above, but not all, please still apply and we would be happy to have a further discussion with you regarding your suitability for the role.
