Job Summary

The Shift Electrical Engineer will ensure the effective and efficient maintenance of all production machines and R&D equipment, while maintaining internal and external health and safety standards. The role involves 24/7 coverage with a focus on compliance, process improvement and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose faults, troubleshoot and repair equipment to keep it running efficiently.
  • Carry out planned maintenance schedules within agreed timescales.
  • Record all work performed and future action items, including spare parts requirements.
  • Repair machine components to assembly level, using hand and machine tools, diagnostics, test instrumentation and circuit diagrams.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and support design and manufacture from drawing board to installation.
  • Support the site's sustainability drive by proposing and implementing energy saving ideas.
  • Enter information into the computerized maintenance system, record tasks and store movements, keep machine drawings up to date.
  • Apply quality standards and data integrity principles to maintain product quality.
  • Follow hygiene rules, using appropriate protective gear to protect product quality.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Relevant engineering qualification.
  • Considerable industry experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Excellent health and safety knowledge and compliance.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Good computer proficiency (Microsoft Office), agility knowledge beneficial.
  • Excellent prioritisation and time management.
  • Capable of working under pressure with changing priorities.
  • Able to work independently and in a team.
  • Experience in contractor management and permit-to-work systems desirable.
